KCUMB still interviewing??

I was under the impression from previous posts that KCUMB (formerly UHS-COM) had already had their last day for interviews. However, I just received an interview invitation for April 25th.... So, is this almost guaranteed an interview for a waitlist position? Or, does anybody know how/if they do deferrals? Thanks for the input!!

I don't know if KCUMB is interviewing for the waitlist or not, but I too received an invitation to interview on April 25 or 27--which I promptly declined due to my now firm decision to attend KCOM and some hefty deposits! 😉 I do know that I called the school in February (when I was scheduling my other interviews) and was informed that there was a "freeze" in interviews because the class was approaching its size limit--and that was in Feb. I was given the impression though that I would be contacted should they resume interviews--almost in a don't give up on us manner. From what I understand, they ended up with a much larger class last year than they had bargained for and would be taking more appropriate measures this year to ensure that it did not happen again. That being said, who knows? I would think that it may be entirely possible for them to still have a few slots, especially if they are just now getting back to the interview process. I just couldn't pass on my other acceptances to wait for KCUMB. Figured it was partially my fault for applying a little late. Hope this info. is somehow helpful. Good luck!

Yeah, I had heard similar things. I would have declined the interview at KCUMB, but I still haven't heard anything from KCOM yet. I interviewed about a month ago, and according to them, my application is "undecided."
Chalk that up to WAY LATE application. So, hopefully I will hear good news from KCOM and not have to take the interview at KCUMB, lol.

Hey, it would be good news if you could be joining us at KCOM! Here's hoping... I wasn't really sure what to make of KCUMB this year. One of my best friends is going there in the fall, so I was definitely considering it. Guess it's just not in the cards. 🙁 Probably better this way. 😉 School-wise, I think I prefer KCOM--but that's just me. If you live in the midwest, I'd strongly consider going to the interview. If not, you could probably call and ask if you are interviewing for a waitlist position before you have put down the bucks to hop on a plane. I imagine they missed out on a bunch of applicants who were accepted elsewhere while they were holding on interviews, even though it was late in the season. Good luck on everything!

i also received the belated interview invite, and thought it was probably an interview for their alternate list. i called the school and was told that many of their acceptees failed to remit their initial deposit; thus, these acceptances were rescinded. i was also told that they will probably accept ~90% of those invited to interview on 4/25 or 4/27.

They actually said they would accept 90% of the interviews on that date?? Boy they must have played it WAY too safe this year. Either way, guess you can't beat those odds, might as well try since I am a MO resident anyway.
