Hi all!

I was just wondering if any of you have applied or currently attend Kean University for OT? If so, how was the application process? Would you mind posting your stats? It's my first choice school but unfortunately, I'm going to have to repeat A&P 1&2 because I took both classes in 2004 (you have to have taken those sciences classes within 5 years of the application date so I'm about a year behind!) I plan on taking the classes in Spring/Summer semester but I realize it's going to hurt my chances of getting in since the pre-req's won't be technically satisfied at time of application.

My GPA is 3.5 with my A's in all of the other pre-req's (with the exception of AP in which I got a B- and B).

I also plan on applying to NYU and Columbia, although I know I won't be apply to afford it :/ (I have a mortgage to pay so even with the more affordable costs at Kean, it's gonna be a struggle!)

Thanks in advance for responding!

I would also like to hear more about Kean, especially about how vigorous their admissions process is. If anyone has any information, please share.

Retake the B- class. They rejected my application due to a B- in intro to psychology regardless of how my abnormal and developmental psychology are A and B+. They say B and up and they mean it. But talk to the staff that way you can really have a better understanding of where you stand. If you can't attend an info session set up a personal meeting, even a phone meeting will help!

As for stats I think I posted them before:
BA sociology and minor in Art: 3.56
AA in Liberal Arts: 3.54
Pre-req GPA: 3.3~3.5ish (depends on the school's requirements)

I don't know anything about their admissions process, but I am going to apply for 2011. I don't know if you guys have looked at their prerequisites but I just had a question...

Under the Prospective Students Link and then the Prerequisite Courses there are two 6A's: Principles of Biology and Essentials of Human Physiology/Anatomy and then 6B: Anatomy and Physiology I and II. However, under Prospective Students and then How to Apply it doesn't list anything about Principles of Biology nor about Essentials of Human Physiology/Anatomy.

Penguinita, I know you applied already to Kean so do you have any info about this? Or anyone else? Thanks!

Laurp0233 I'm not sure what you question is but:
The A and B options are there for the duel degree students.
Bio duel degree students take A&P I&II as the pre requisite
All other duel degree students take Principles of Biology and Essentials of Human Physiology/Anatomy

I believe either option is a valid prerequisite if your applying as a regular masters student, but you can always email the department if you're not sure.

I just looked at the site now and it clearly states the difference lol- I really don't think that red typing was always there, but then again maybe I just completely overlooked it.

6B (Anatomy I and II) is for anyone taking prereqs at a different school.

Thanks for your answer 🙂
