I'd bet good money that Quinn has noticed this too, that the EM forums is keeping pace with the General Residency Issues forum. For a while there, we were actually gaining ground on them, posting at a higher rate despite an obviously smaller census. We just can't shut up! 🙂

I'm doing my part with this thread.

Probably has something to do with the fact that EM people tend to be the coolest people in the hospital. It's not our fault that our field draws the most laid back people who are most interested in other things outside of medicine, and can actually hold a normal conversation about sports.

This also has something to do with the fact that we work less than almost every other specialty in medicine.

Is that a Michigan U avatar? Damn you people for beating Wisconsin and screwing our BCS hopes (yet again). The Longhorns are the perennial get-screwed-in-the-@ss-by-the-BCS college football school.

Hmm... on second thought, that wasn't you, that was Iowa. You guys lost to Iowa...er, Ohio State (I get all these states mixed up when they all start with vowels), thus ensuring that Utah remains in the top 6 of the BCS standings. Bloody stupid BCS!

I think the reason that we have more posts is that EM is perceived by med students as being a more difficult residency in which to match. Consequently we get more repeat posts about a persons chances at a given place or in general. That pads our numbers.

By that logic, the Plastic Surgery and Dermatology forums should be crammed. Instead, their whole forums are smaller than some of our threads.

Sessamoid - love the avatar! Yeah, ED docs generally rule...

Id have to say texas pretty much screws itself every time it renews Mack Brown's contract. Not that he isnt a nice guy and obviously a great recruiter, but texas consistently gets less out of their talent than any team in the country. If Mack Brown is actually your dad....well it only proves my point, you sitting here posting on SDN when you could be out maximizing your potential.

And you wasting your time in this thread as well proves what? 🙂 No argument about Mack Brown. That braindead offensive coodinator he's had for years needs to go. Once he brought Greg Robinson in to run the defense we've been defensively solid. Offensive coodinator is next I hope.

If it wasn't for OU the last few years Texas would most likely have had three BCS births and possibly one national championship. Then everyone would be talking about what a great, if not legendary, coach Mack Brown is.

Thank God for Bob Stoops. 😀

I'm looking forward to my Sooners winning number 8 this year. 🙂

Ya gotta get by the Big 12 North Champion first! You guys forgot that part last year.

Actually gaining ground on general residency forum. I remember when we were over 6000 posts behind. Now we're within 5000.

Continuing the previous topic, HOOK 'EM, HORNS!. Rose Bowl, baby! It's a short drive for me to the Rose Bowl. Hell, I was just there yesterday to watch USC almost blow it against an unranked UCLA team.
