Keratometry Olympics:
*Deeped-voice announcer guy* In a world where keratometry and speed can never be used in the same sentence, comes a new era of optometry students bold enough to take keratometry to the next level. K readings, this time it’s for real…
Rules and Regulations:
Horizontal/Vertical readings must be correct within 0.50 D.
Axis readings must be correct within +/- 15 degrees.
Chin rest must be set to 1 index of fonz, aka 1.5 cm.
Patient/partner can be six inches away from chin rest.
All other adjustments can be set to the student/doctor’s desire.
Current Records (as of 10:00 a.m. 8/31/07 eastern time Nova Optometry lab):
Fonzifonz: 7 seconds
Vsarge0708: 7 seconds
Dare to be bold?
*Disclaimer* The keratometry olympics is meant for those willing to take keratometry to the next level. Actual values may vary and do not represent final readings used on real patients—olympic readings do not supplement actual readings. No cheap remarks about being prepared for the corporate world—for entertainment purposes only.
