Killer King loses accreditation:

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
It's about time something happened.

The sadest part of this whole ordeal is how so many supporters og King/Drew think (and refuse to think otherwise) that "they" are just trying to take the hospital away from people that need it. Exactly how many negligence related deaths have to occur before people get it?

some of the programs (esp. the smaller ones) have contingency plans to train at other sites (Harbor, etc) which presumably will pick up the volume.

Other than that- how crazy for the entire hospital. Does this mean the hospital will flat-out close for a few months?

Or is it that people are taking joy that a hospital were more people die due to stupid mistakes (example: 6 hours, 2 doctors, and 3 ekg's to Dx a heart attack. Patient dies. EKG machine Dx the problem correctly all 3 times. Example 2: Women has C-section scheduled at Harbor. She stores her blood there. Water breaks, friend takes her to King. King transfues AIDs positive blood during c-section.) is being closed.

I doubt that people want to see any hospital shutdown. Instead, I think that most want to see the problems fixed and the doors stay open.

Who's taking joy in it?

The hospital has been out of control for years. The administration is incompetent and corrupt, but good at playing the race card. So, the LA County Commissioners have given it a pass.

How many people have died needlessly because of the neglect by the LA County Commissioners? How many have died, because criminally incompetent and neglegent staff have screwed up? How many have died because the hospital administration was more concerned with getting theirs, than doing medicine?

Go read the LA Times series on King, and then come back with a plan to "fix" it.

I've never heard of AIDS positive blood.
