Does any one know of any thread that summarizes all the reactions that KMNO4 is used in.
IF not would it be possible to make a list of all the reactions
hot and cold,dilute?
all of the above.
As I understand the cold and dilute will convert alkene to diols, am I correct?
when heat is present will convert alkene to acid, am I correct?
but when heat is present wouldn't also convert alkene to ketone and CO2?
when KNO4 conc and heat is present and applied to substitued benzoic ring that has alkene on one carbon and alkane on another carbon why is it converting the alkene and alkane to acid?
Thank you
