in decks,
one time ..korff's fibers in mantle dentin at the periphery of formaed dentin ..near enamel..
and one time it said it is in the periphery of pulp and promote formation of dentin matrix..
i am getting bored from these contradictions ..and did not find it in wikepedia too..
any help ..plzzzzzzzzzzz😡

one more contradiction:
PDL thick in area of tension and thin in area of compression or opposite ???

that's interesting ..
too many views and no reply...
feel like talking to myself ..come on guys ..no answers?????

here is my reasoning:
i believe that the von korff's fibers are small bundles of collagen fibers that are situated between odontoblasts. since odontoblasts are generating the dentin on the pulp side, i would say that they are near the pulp.
someone correct me if i'm wrong.

In the mantle dentin ,the arrangement of collagen bundles are more regular and the fibres are thicker. These fibres are known as Von Korff Fibres or Agyrophilic fibres as they are stained by silver stain.I have also read that Von Korff fibres cannot be demonstrated near the circumpulpal dentin. Therefore I would like to conclude by saying that I think Von Korff fibres can be seen nearer to the enamel. This is subject to debate.🙂

what I remeber from Oral Histology book written by A.R Ten Cate, " the previous concept about vonkorf fibers was that they are collagen fibers that radiate from pulp side toward DEJ, such appearance was due to silver staining as seen under light microscope and it was later proved under powerful microscope that what appeared to be vonkorf fibers after silver staining was actually the membranes of Odontobalsts it self. So the current concept is that there is no such thing called Von Korff's fibers and it merely an artifcat produced due to silver staining, although some book and even the decks follow the same old concept. Let me correct if I am wrong as its been long time since I studied these things.
