I did an away rotation at a program that is easily my first choice, however I am struggling with the rest of the list. I got along pretty well with some of the residents during my rotation (who know I am ranking them number one) and was wondering if its ok to ask them what were some of the other programs they liked.

Personally, I think it's alright. (Disclaimer: fellow med student here.) I asked residents such things on aways and also on interviews, and no one seemed put off by my question. Since I believe many programs are self-selecting in the types of personalities they attract, I would guess that the opinions of residents that you already know and like should be able to give you some insight into your other considerations.
