Kplan quizes...Freaked out...

I justed mastered (I thought I did...) endocrine physiology from Kaplan book couple days ago. (I took Physiology course as well...)

I just took endocrine practice quiz online from Kaplan and I got 70%....
I don't think I'm prepared...

How do you guys figure yourself about your knowledge about bio, chem, orgo, math, reading, etc before taking the DAT?

I received As in all science and can't seem to beat over 70% in any Kaplan DAT quiz or test.

Should I postpond my DAT till next year for better preparation?

Don't worry, that's supposed to happen. The Quizzes have more information than the book does, and different ways of thinking about it. Although you might have mastered the information from the book, often the questions can be made to trip you up, and Kaplan does that to prepare you. The key thing to improve your scores is to read the explanation for EVERY SINGLE QUIZ QUESTION and then be able to explain it to someone else (or just say it out loud). Retake the quizzes later, and keep taking them until you get 100%, but not only that, you need to understand why it is the answer that they're saying.

Again, I wouldn't worry too much, and just use the quizzes to figure out where you need more practice. Good luck, and don't stress.

I wouldn't worry about the Kaplan quizzes. I was getting 65%-75%'s on them the week before my DATs and on my actual DATs I got 24 bio, 23 GC, 22 orgo. I do have to say that Kaplan did not cover everything on the DATs though. Make sure you use other study materials too! gl!

hey... i felt the same when i took kaplan
BUt... it really helped! the quizes haev a lot of extra info that you should probably look up on your own
(barrons bio)
some of that stuff showed up on my DAT..dont let hte kaplan blue book be the only resourse you use (especially for bio)

but the quizzes are sweet. I went through them each at least twice (i did the kaplan stuff for two weeks straight all day)

I did will in everything but QR and GC (18s in those) but much better in everything else. ( i took QR as a joke and i'v eneve been good at GC so 18 was an accomplisment in that one for me --i was getin 16 in the pracfor that)
