OK, I just got my secondary for KU. This is one of my schools that would be awesome but they don't take in a lot of out of state students so I hadn't gotten my hopes up. Now I'm looking at it a little closer and I'm confused as to where their campus is. I thought it was in Lawrence and Wichita but the address is for KC, KS. I don't really mind all three places (I was born in Wichita) but of course Lawrence is an awesome town.
So anyone have any info/opinions about this school?

They admit 175 and less than 5% out of state.
They have years 1-4 in KC (right in the hood) with a sat location in Wichita (where I live) for years 3 and 4 for those that want to move in the middle.
Any other questions let me know.

That's not entirely correct. If not enough people opt to move, then the remaining spots are filled by involuntary lottery.

I haven't heard anything back from KU after sending in my secondary on 7/20 and as an in-state applicant, the involuntary lottery situation concerns me considerably. The only personal reason I have for staying in Kansas city, or Kansas for that matter would be to live with my family to help defray costs for med school. I also know a few people there who bought houses and now have to move to Wichita for years 3 and 4. Talk about an unfortunate deal...

The proposed curriculum changes are also cause for concern.

Starting with next year's entering class, they're switching to a systems-based approach that's become all the rage with med schools. I'm not sure how it will work in reality.
