Hey all - this isn't for Step I or II, so I felt I should put it here. I created a practice case in SOAP note format for a woman with Factor V Leiden. I think it's good practice to see if your friends can figure you out. Then I provide lab values - CBC + diff, PT & PTT and such in a range that would be similar between labs, (or so I think).
Here's the glitch - I have no idea what values to make up for PT/INR or PTT. If my patient comes in with a clot in her leg d/t the gene predisposition, will her platelet count be effected at that time?
If you know some ranges for FL V will you enlighten me? Better yet, if you know of a case database I can learn from, I'd be so excited I'd about pee all over myself. Fischbach was the worst purchase I've made... well, maybe next to the DSM. I'm hoping they'll be helpful 3rd year. For the insecure - yes, I have googled quite a bit and it's how I wrote the rest of the case.
Thanks for anythin'!
Caboose.
