Hi,
I was wondering how much detail do we need to know about the Lac Operon? Do we have to know the structure (i.e location of promotor, binding site,etc) and names of enzymes?

YES indeed,,,,,know the terms operator, promoter, CAP region, inducer,,,,,inducible system......understand that 3 structural genes are involved in making 3 different enzymes and know the picture and be able to identify the given regions. The Kaplan Blue book does a nice job on this.
