Anyone had any experience with this program? I'm debating about applying to this program so I can gain some volunteer "hands-on" health care experience, earn the opportunity to shadow some physicians, and hopefully receive a strong letter of recommendation.

I think the LAC+USC CMV program is mostly shadowing with little patient care/interaction (if any?). I don't know about the quality of their LOR.

I've heard that COPE CCE is a good hands on clinical experience. I think there are other threads about CCE in the pre-allo thread. Try a search.

I did the LAC+USC DEM program and it's your typical ER volunteering. There can be some patient care if you're proactive about it, plenty of things to observe and learn about, and an offer for an LOR at the end of your 200 hours (don't know how strong that is either).
