Do they use LAF for hip replacement surgeries? Is this why the surgeons wear their space suits?

Used to be that all joints at my shop were done in laminar flow rooms, but given the lack of evidence, they have relaxed and now do joints in non-laminar flow rooms if none are available.

Same story for the space suits - no evidence supporting their use. However, all the joint guys at my shop still wear them, but most admit it’s really to protect themselves from the splatter.

I thought studies regarding forced air warmers e.g bair hugger for ortho cases were predicated on the presence of LAF which prevent turbulent flow and vortices around surgical site
