Did anyone see the article on relapse of psychosis on lais in the recent Lancet? interestingsly showed that TD was a risk factor for relapse and they suggested that D2 receptor upregulation induced by long term antipsychotic plays a role in relapse. this is something that critics of psychiatry have been saying for quite some time but first time I’ve seen it endorsed By mainstream Psychiatry.

I didn't see the article, but I have had my enthusiasm for long acting injectables lowered during this pandemic. AS an inpatient psychiatrist, I have seen a lot of patients who had to be hospitalized because they couldn't get their meds. Even those that try to be compliant and keep the ZOOM appts at their county mental health centers and get their oral meds filled have trouble getting their monthly injections.

I've had the opposite experience. My patients on LAI have done better because they haven't needed to go to the clinic or pharmacy as much.
