Does anybody know the required laptop specs for Texas COPs(UT, TT, UH)? Texas A&M has yet to give us their required specs, but I want to have an idea from the rest of the COPs in the state. Thanx!

UTexas does not necessarily require you to have a computer nor a laptop since there are plenty of computers in the college and around campus for use whenever necessary.

A computer/laptop that will allow you to browse the internet, check email, open pdf, have quicktime installed, should be adequate for any pharmacy program.

hey utpharmdude, from your experience do you recommend a laptop? how about a tablet pc?

From what I've encountered in class, the only use for a laptop during lecture is for the partiers to look at Facebook for the next party and for some of the girls use AIM to IM other classmates about how the teacher has a fake Coach bag. So a processor above 400mhz and a wifi card is appearently all you need. Personally, I just sat there and spaced out, kinda daydreaming about random nothingness. I'm easier to amuse than most.

So, other than personal use, laptops aren't that useful in the classroom setting? That's a relief! I'm not ready to get one unless I absolutely have to. Then again, I can always ask my parents to get one for me 😀

95% of the time all of the notes are preprinted because they want you paying attention rather than taking notes. The caveat is that people like me who can't learn from lectures and are too ADD for their own good just don't get anything from lecture due to daydreaming and what they use to learn, written notes, are already given to you.

Then again, I can always ask my parents to get one for me 😀

If I asked my parents for a laptop, I honestly think they would laugh at me. Then accuse me of needing money for smack.
