I have a Toshiba laptop right now but battery life is horrendous and the weight never helps. What laptop/ultra book would be a good suggestion for classes.

Sent from my SPH-D710 using SDN Mobile

keep it and buy some extra batteries. Unless you really want to the spend the cash.

A lot of people in my class use iPads. They even made this incoming class mandatory buy them. I don't see a point of paying for one if you have a working laptop though..

I'd be so mad if they made me buy an ipad. I don't use a laptop or ipad they're too distracting.

I stopped carrying my heavy full sized Dell about two months into P1 year. I kept banging it around and it was very cumbersome. I bought a cheap $200 small Acer laptop that I can carry in one hand. Also, I use pdfescape.com to pull up PDF powerpoints and add notes to them. This way I don't have to deal with tons of printed paper which was the case in P1 year. You can't believe the amount of paper you will have if you deal with the hardcopy version of your notes. Easy to misplace and lose and inconvenient. A lot of people in my class use ipads, etc. They also can write right into the power point slide files. I think it is a good expenditure (and I am pretty frugal) because having something useful, compact, and that stores all your information will keep you on top of your game from the start making pharmacy school more doable.
