With 1 person immunizing, what is the highest number of shots you’ve done/seen in a day? I guess I’m asking about in a “workflow model” in which you are the sole pharmacist also doing your normal job duties. Please post how many hours, or rate in shots/hour!

I’ll go first - 76 in 6 hours on a Sunday. Pharmacy open 9-5. Shots start at 930 and end at 430, with a 1 hour break from 1-2. Idk how corporate comes up with the numbers for how many shots a store is going to be doing on a given day. My home store is like 12-24 per day but this was at a different store. Almost all 12 to 15 years old. Some stores do 12, 24, 30, 40, 60, etc and seems to be based NOT on staffing levels, lol.

there seems to be no rhyme or reason. we're basically averaging 20-30/day. some days more some days less and it doesn't matter if it falls on a weekend/one shift or not. yet the same chain, sister store down the street, will be doing 200/day all week, while we do 20/day. now what's the logic in that? either share the love, or give them our 20, which will be a drop in the bucket for them. 🙂

20 on a weekend

Scheduled appointments + randos

Mix of the Johnson and Moderna

Sorry to those of you at Walgreens that got shafted with random scheduling. 12/hr is pretty ****ty. I've done max 11 from 9-12. Other Walmarts have done 40+ on a weekend though with scheduled appts + randos

1-10 covid shots per day. At CVS all I have to do is get their temperature and birthday at appointment time because the paperwork is filled out already and most of the time the insurance paid for it so it takes me a couple minutes to give 1 shot. I know other areas where they have multiple pharmacists giving covid shots with hundreds of shots per day so we are probably lucky here.

76 in 6 hours sounds ridiculous. Are all of these appointments or are you just taking in tons of walk ins?
76 in 6 hours means more than 12 people per hour. At that point, what’s the point of having an appointment system?

The most I've done is 53 in 6 hours with single coverage.

The most stressful was 31 in 1.5 hours (all scheduled in 1 hour but there was no way I could keep up) when I was alone with a cashier. Mix of all 3 manufacturers, mix of first and second doses. Plus a random Shingrix.

For me, 30 and it was a pain in the ass, plus other non-covid shots on top of that. So roughly 35 shots per day. This is not safe. Yeah, they gave us more tech hours, but what happens when you're having a hard time hiring in the first place?

I applaud you. Im at 25 with no overlap and Im sure its going to grow. Couldnt get prescriptions ready at times and had cashier yelling at me to go faster 🙄. When she doesnt exert herself on anything.

The next question is why won't we upsell other vaccines since the person is already there ready to get a COVID ****

I only do what is requested. And only if eligible for the immunization. If you reach goal....they only ask you to do more next year.

That's just asking for a mixup, then again they're saying it may be advantageous to mix and match the vaccines.

It is ridiculous. This all appointments, no walk ins. I don't think even the DM knows if that was intended for, or a mistake. It was 3 random days that there were 76 friday, 76 saturday, and 76 sunday. It's basically what you think the maximum is, and then double schedule it. This was 2 days after the Pfizer approval for ages 12-15. Monday it went back to 24... ?????????

God forbid a syncope episode (or worse) happens when doing 1 of 76
Actually on this day had a 12 year old get sick after the shot and throw up in the waiting area and in front of the pharmacy. Lol. I think it was just from anxiety.
