Late acceptances

Has anyone interviewed & received an acceptance letter this late in the cycle? If so, to what school?

if you arent against going to puerto rico that school accepts apps until may 1st i think I just interviewed and got accepted my app is on hold at other schoosl RSO ICO SCO Western PCO are still "reviewing" my file so its not rejected yet anyway

well i supposed i should have asked what your stats are then answered the question lol i dont know if i can do it either lol i interviewed with Nova's POP program as well and my app is on review at 4 other schools rejected from 4 schools

my philosophy has been to go where i can actually be accepted i remain hopeful about the other schools but there is never anything set in stone if puerto is the only optom acceptance i get then ill go there if a school isnt impressed with me the first time unless something magical happens to my stats i dont see why waste anytime on trying to impress them the following app cycle and just go to optom school it all depends on your outlook on life

Don't lose hope, I just interviewed last week at PCO (march 13th) and found out just yesterday that I have been accepted.

Definitely don't give up! If you have the money for the app fees, it is worth it.

I have almost completely average stats. My application mailed out on Feb 28th.

Both MCPHS and PCO offered me an interview. I haven't gone to either, yet. MCPHS's deadline in May 1st, I believe.

Optometrygirl29, I applied to all the schools you applied to besides PR and PCO. I'm still on hold as well. Good luck to you though at least you have PR!

Don't lose hope! I applied really late, app was mailed out 3/7. I interviewed at SUNY & NECO this past week and got accepted at both so there is still hope this late in the cycle. Good Luck!

ha! I beat all of you, my app was mailed 3/28, so um just yesterday! I wasn't planning on graduating from my undergrad degree this year, but I manage to get everything done, so I decided to take the OAT asap and applied really really late.. oh well good luck guys!

My app was sent out mid to late february. Took OAT 3/5. Have gotten 5 interview requests so far of the 6 schools I applied to. Don't give up hope!

Yes, SCCO. I interviewed on 3/29/13, and I was notified today of my acceptance. To be honest, I was very worried because I interviewed so late in the cycle, and I had heard that all the seats were already given away, but at the interview, I was told that many people get accepted to 5 schools, on average, so even if the 100 seats are taken early on in the cycle, there is still a chance for us late interviewers.

There is a deadline of when people have to put down their deposit for the school that they will attend, and then those seats that they are not going to take become open for people who interview late or who are put on the alternate list, so I say, keep the hope, because it is still possible to get accepted into a school during this cycle.
