Late Applicants...What's the Word?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
How late did you apply? I wasn't complete at any of my schools until sometime in January. I thought that was late but I don't think it really hurt me.

By complete you mean secondaries as well? NYCOM doesn't send secondaries out until you are chosen to interview, so up until that point, I have been complete since late February. I know, super late. If you want to see my reasoning, search some of my other posts, I don't feel like typing out my story again. Basically it comes down to believing that I had nothing to lose.

I wasn't specifically referencing my situation with this thread, I just was interested to see how other students who applied late did as well. Congratulations on your acceptance!

I sent out secondaries and (interfolio) LORs at the same time. First week in January.

Hey, I was 'complete' in the beginning of Feb also (secondaries were sent out last year, but my LOR was received Feb). I've had two interviews and another tomorrow. I have one acceptance and one waitlist, then whatever happens tomorrow. So, yes it's late, but obviously people get in late also.

My secondaries weren't complete until February as well. Yet I still got 7 interview invites (out of 12 secondaries sent). I've been to two interviews so far, and they've both resulted in acceptances. I've ended up canceling all but one of my remaining interviews. All in all, I'd say applying late hasn't affected me all that negatively (besides the wait). So yeah, late applicants definitely do still have a chance of getting in.

waitlisted at NSUCOM interview 2/25 was complete somewhere in december. I hate waiting. 🙂

I was complete in late January and have received 5 interviews thus far. At this point I've attended two interviews, and have gotten an acceptance and a waitlist. Most of the schools I applied to have been pretty responsive to my application, with the exception of Nova. I think Nova has just been behind in their applications for a bit and they end the interview season well short of most other schools.

So other than Nova, I don't think my late application hurt me that much...especially considering the acceptance I got was to a top choice of mine.

AACOMAS was finished 12/07.

Sent out PCOM secondary before the holidays. Heard from NYCOM before the holidays. Not a peep from NJSOM.

No interviews, no rejections. 😕

Complete late January to early Feb, 5 interviews, 2 accepts, 2 waitlists, waiting to hear from 1 still. Good luck to everyone

I was complete in January - haven't heard back from 4 schools. I am assuming PCOM-GA is a no...I don't think they send rejection letters, but their interviews are up at the end of this month, according to their website.

So, I am waiting impatiently for KCOM, DCOM, and PCSOM. Does anyone know how they send correspondence and if they send a rejection letter or just leave you waiting? I should call, I'm just too scared right now. :scared:

KCOM sent me their interview invite via email.

KCOM sent my husband and me a hold letter so I'm guessing they would do the same for rejections. I don't know about holds or rejections from DCOM but I do know they call for interviews. :luck::luck::luck:

Thanks for the info! Ahhh, this is so stressful being so close to the end and hearing nothing yet. I don't know whether to sign up for classes next semester to start working on an education degree or what...SO confusing!!

DCOM calls for interviews and sends letters for waitlists/rejections.

I was complete in November, but all of the schools were waiting for my January MCAT score. The scores were faxed out February 26th and I received an interview invite by snail mail on March 5th for LECOM. The interview is for March 28th and this is my only interview so far.

So for a variety of reasons, I applied late only to TUCOM (I'm a Bay Area gal at heart). My secondary was completed Feb 14. I've read that they have a quick turn-around for interview invites, but does anyone know if they:
1. Are still interviewing
2. How long it take them to send a rejection

??

Thanks!
