Late application... am I at a severe disadvantage?

Because my school is one of the few that ends the academic year late (mid-June), I couldn't get my transcripts to AMCAS until last week. Today, my application finally got updated to "ready for review".

Meaning that if I wait the expected 6 weeks for verification, it'll be mid-August till my primary application is complete...

Am I screwed? Is this considered late?

If you want to save yourself some mental trauma, focus on getting the application in as early as possible, then only use SDN for help on secondaries (the archives). Otherwise, stay away from the site.

I think anything complete by mid July should be considered early, and anything complete by mid August should be considered on-time. FWIW, submitting a primary any time after mid July is probably going to be 'late' for this cycle.

I doubt you'll be at a severe disadvantage but you are less advantaged than people who submitted early. That doesn't mean its bad. If you're app is good then you're cycle should go good as well.

I didn't apply AMCAS but I submitted to TMDSAS in late July and got verified mid-August and still got plenty of interviews so I think the whole submitting early thing is kind of just SND neuroticism, although im sure it helps slightly.
