Fellow future dentists...

I ended up sending out my AADSAS early Nov, and it is still getting processed though I hope that they'll get sent to schools early Dec. Have you guys heard of people getting accepted who apply this late?

brief stats: 3.4 GPA, (26 Academic, 18 PAT), Bio major from Stanford with a few publications.

hey stanford,

personally, I don't know anyone who applied this late and got in....then again, I've never really asked the dental students I know when they sent in their applications....while you're gpa is solid, it's not so amazing that schools would jump all over you...HOWEVER, that academic score on the dat is friggin' amazing!! Taken w/your pubs and stanford b'ground (great school only helps, never hurts!) I'd be shocked if you don't get interview requests from almost all the programs you apply to....acceptances, though, will just depend on how many spots they've filled already and will be a little more beyond your control than it would've been had u applied earlier....

just curious...why did you apply late?

good luck!
😎

oops...meant to say "your gpa," not "you're"....I know, it's enough to make u wanna puke...

Hey,

I agree with waiting - your DAT scores are fabulous! With your overall package, I think you have a good chance of getting into A dental school, but you may not have much selection.

However, a lot of this is out of your hands now. If you submitted in early November, I would be very surprised if you were processed by December. This may push back interview requests until Jan/Feb, esp if there is a secondary to fill out and to be processed by the school. Competitive schools may have their class filled by March.

That said, I have heard of stories of people getting phone calls the week before class started because spots opened up (at UCLA), so there's hope!

hi waiting and rice girl
thanks a ton for your responses....

since i decided on dental school rather late this year, i went into the application process relatively unaware, so i made a few mistakes 😡

good luck with you guys! i'm sure you'll be receiving your letters soon. 🙂
