okay, so I submitted my application yesterday and its ready for review. however, after reading through some other threads, i feel like i am already late in the application cycle, which is starting to worry me. any thoughts?

You're only 'SDN late', not real world late.
You're probably close to the middle of the pack, overall, which is not a bad place to be. It's too early to start panicking yet anyway. Congrats on getting the application in, and get ready for secondaries. They're all sorts of "fun"...

Nothing you can do now. Also, SDN is crazy and does not represent the general pre-med population. You're probably in the middle of the pack. In the meantime while you are getting verified, you'll start getting secondaries from some schools, maybe. And then more once you are verified. Make sure you don't doddle on those. You want to be complete (verified AMCAS, secondary, LORs) at all the schools as soon as possible.
Now, SDN has some great resources so that you can be extra prepared. Check out this thread. It's got links to some of the prompts from this year. And a link to a similar thread from last year (schools rarely change essay prompts). Also, you can check out the threads for each school in this sub-forum. Some of them may have the prompts posted in them if they aren't linked in the thread.
