late drexel interviews

anyone with a late drexel interview (march, april, may)... i'd suggest calling and trying to get a new date so that you're not interviewing for the waitlist. i just got one for mid-february. they even had a feb 5th spot available.

What is their deal? When I got my letter in the mail about a month and a half ago I called and the first spot available was march 14 (which I took). How do they have all these spots open now? People signing up and then canceling interviews?

i would imagine so as it is many people's "backup" school. if they are already in somewhere else, they likely cancelled their drexel interview. my original date was march 14th as well but am now set for feb 13.

its the same with all schools - some people can't make the date offered so it re-opens, some people cancel...I had the same with Mt Sinai who offered me late march and then offered me something for today when I called them (that was a little short notice!)

I need some help with logistics.
Anyone who has either interviewed at Drexel or knows the area please feel free to help me out...
I will be flying in from Chicago. Where is a good place to stay? Also, how late in the day does the interview last? Can I make arrangements to fly out the evening of the interview? If so, what is the earliest time I can make without risking missing my flight?

every time I go to interview I call the admissions office and ask these exact questions - after all interview schedules vary and they may even have your particular one done already. I normally fly home that evening on a flight 2 hours after my last interview (1 hour to get there, 1 hour pre check-in).

there is a thread on this if you do a search. from what i remember, the b&b's suggested in the brochure sent from drexel are very close and good to stay at. also, you can call the admissions office and get a student host if you prefer that.
i'm also wondering how late the interview goes, as i guess i need to make a flight arrangement now and would like to be back for valentine's day 😍

I just got off the phone with Drexel. I was able to move my 3/14 interview up to 2/21. Not all that big of a difference, but maybe the 3 weeks will work to my favor, plus it will be a good warmup for my NU interview on the 25th. The lady on the phone claimed that the interview would be done around 3, and she said to allow an hour to get back to the airport, so I wouldn't book anything that leaves before 6 or so to be safe...

thanks for the info about the time the interview ends. i will try to get a flight out that night i think.

i think a school must offer enough spots to fill their class by march 15th, so changing to the 21st of feb might end up actually making a difference between waitlist and outright accept. you never know...

Damn I just called earlier this week and moved mine up from may 5 to 3/11, i wonder if they'd get pissed if i called again.

I interviewed in late November. As for ending at 3, it is not true. You can go at around 1:30 if you want, unless you want to stay for the PIL program presentation, till runs till 3. At my interview, more than half of the people weren't interested in PIL and left. I stayed not b/c interested, but just curious.

the bed and breakfast place is really good. the people were nice. drexel's list has alot flux. People withdraw all the time (like me) I think they are good with rescheduling, b/c I called twice to do so. drexel's statistic: intervew around 1,400 !!! accept 500, class of 250 (large class)

actually, if i were you i'd probably wait a day or two as they offered me the 5th, 13th, 14th, & 21st and we already know that the 13th and 21st have been taken. or you could just keep calling if they don't have any available on monday 🙂
