Hey guys, Is it still reasonable to apply to schools right now--that is, send in my primary?

Please let me know, I was really caught up with something until now, but would love to go to school as soon as possible.

Thanks!

You can still apply, some school accept applications into march and even april. Now your chances of being accepted have been severly cut but if your academics are up to par, the chance exists.

I say send it in...You'll have everything in by the end of this year and hopefully start to get interviews in January. I talked to an admissions officer last week, and she said right now is about average for DO applicants to apply. SDN tends to be ahead of the curve, so go for it!

From your previous posts it sounds like you were caught up in applying to allopathic schools. If your heart is set on having an MD, apply MD again. Also, be aware that most schools require a letter of rec from a DO.

I say go ahead and send in your apps ASAP if you haven't already because the application takes 4-6 weeks to process.

I have to agree with everybody else though. Early is definitely better, but if your stats are high and you have a good amount of extracurriculars I would do it. Also try to shadow a D.O. if you haven't already gotten a letter of recommendation.

Personally, the time I spend shadowing a D.O. ultimately tipped that scales for me when it came to applying to osteopathic school.
