late interviews/acceptances

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Yes, some schools do interview that late, although most are finished in March or April. I bet that with all of the AMCAS problems this year, many schools will interview later than they have in previous years, so I wouldn't be suprized if lots of people are interviewing in late spring/ early summer.
As for acceptances, LOTS of people get accepted all through the summer. Schools accept people up until the first week of classes! They take people off of their waitlists as spots open up in the class.

Yes, schools do accept up until the very last minute. I am at CWRU and one person in my class (from LA) was accepted the week before classes started. I think he had just enough time to pack his car and drive to make it to the white coat ceremony.

I was interviewed at Saint Louis U in April and accepted off of the alternate list in July. Also accepted at Tufts in July. There is definitely hope for the waitlisted. I am now an M'05 at Tufts.

my application was not completed until late (jan), i was interviewed in early march, accepted by late march at DMU. I have heard that they pull people off the alt. list during orientation and into the first week of class.

woohoo!!! 100! (previous post)

One of my friends got into Wayne State off the waitlist in July and another one of my friends was going to Albert Einstein and the week before he was leaving he got accepted off the waitlist at Michigan. You just never know.

This year, I'm guessing late interviews will be much more common than early ones. AMCAS isn't planning on being done with verification until sometime in December and you know they don't keep to their dates anyways.

Friend of mine now 3rd year at UCSF was driving to Boston (Harvard) from SF to start school. She kept calling the addmission office at SF on her cell to check her waitlist status. 24 hrs into her journey she got a call from the director of addmissions at UCSF telling her she had a spot. That U-turn on the interstate was off the shizzo ma nizzo! Yeeha!

Now that is truly amazing!

Original why did your friend turn down Harvard?

Cause Harvard ain't **** 😡 I'm just kidding 😀 We all know, like it or not, that Harvard is by far the greatest school on the planet. Anyway She is from SF and her boyfriend of 3 years was in SF. Real Cali girl.
