I know having a late interview can hinder your chances of acceptance because at that point most schools have their "potential" selections.

Has anyone here, past or present, had a late interview and been accepted. Is it true that later interviews are just meant to make sure all seats are filled come Fall - if those already accepted don't pay in time or decide to go to another school?

I'm just looking for a little hope. I think I'll be richer for the experience but have no intention of actually being accepted.

I had my interview the first week of march and I was thinking about declining it because I thought my chances would be slim, since it was pretty late. I ended up going anyway, and I got accepted 5 days later 😀 So just hang in there and never give up hope :luck: :luck: :luck:

I am worried about getting an interview so late in the game, too. My family is telling me to not worry about it because I will be more recent in the interviewrs minds than the people that interviewed so much earlier than I did....something to keep in mind, or at least help you keep a good thought! :luck:

I had a late interview in early March in Shenandoah...I wanted to see if I couldn't move it to any later to my Spring Break so that I wouldn't miss classes, but I remember they said something like most of the spots have been filled and that they probably wouldn't do any interviews past early March...so I went to this pretty late interview session and got accepted the next week.

I'm also going to what I think is a pretty late interview session for University of Washington later on in April. I think if they're willing to take the time to interview you, at least they're considering you and you've got a chance. I don't see how I can really find out what exactly the chances are, and maybe it is a slightly bigger chance if it is an earlier interview, but people do get in from late interviews as well if the school feels like you're a good match. So I guess just give it your best shot. Good luck!

Well, I was interviewed on the second to last day at UCSF at the very last hour of the day. I got waitlisted, but at a pretty bad number. So I dunno. Maybe it is bad to be interviewed last.

But I don't think anyone should give up an interview because of an assumption. You never know.

I have an interview @ Mercer on April 3. I'm going. I sent in my application there reallly late (like last minute, and i forgot to send part of it, whoops) but i figure, they wouldnt interview me if i didnt have some kind of chance, and so far i'm 2 for 2 on interviews, and neither of them were early.
if its a school you might be interested, i see very little reason not to go.

I think for certain schools like UCSD, they interview all applicants before the admission committee finally meets. On the other hand, with other schools with rolling admissions, it would be more beneficial to have interviews early. But you never know your chances, as many people have already stated on this forum. Good luck! :luck:

Hey dcr2d2??

You have an April interview for U Dub??? When is it? How/when did they contact you for the interview date (letter/phone/email)? I just received a phone call from them yesterday (voicemail) and was wondering if it was to offer me an interview date (i can't think of any other reason why they would be calling me), which I was suprised cause it's really late, and I thought for sure I just didn't make the cut.

i called Temple yesterday and they told me to go ahead and schedule an interview for next week as next week is the last week for interviewing. how weird! and really, thats the only school whose interview i will be attending so far coz i have not heard from the others, they are all still "reviewing the applications and dont know when they would be through". i really hope i gett a chance with Temple.....
