I've been asked to interview at Michigan (woo!) but, was told that I can schedule it for March 7 or March 14. This seems rather late to me...if I'm interviewing that late, do you think my chances are only for Michigan's wait list? I'm not exactly sure how Michigan does their admissions, so I thought I'd ask and see if any of you have any input. Any advice as to how I might get an earlier interview as well?

Hi there,

Congrats on the interview. I would definitely go to it even though Michigan is rolling admissions. From what I remember, they ultimately accept around 50% of the people they interview. Even if you are interviewing for a waitlist spot (not that I think that is the case) you have a great shot at getting in =) Its a really great campus and everyone is extremely friendly there.

Good luck!

I received my invite in late November with several dates in which to schedule an interview (ranging from Jan. 17 to March 14th). But when I called to schedule for Jan., I was told that they were booked through mid-Feb. From what I know, it is best to interview as early as possible, but their class will not be full until all interviewing is complete. Although we are interviewing later, we are not just looking at waitlist spots. Good luck!

Thanks for the info guys!

FYI to anyone else wondering this:
When I called to schedule my interview at Michigan today, I asked if by interviewing in early March if I would be interviewing only for spots on their wait list. I was told "not that i've been informed, but I might try calling closer to your interview date and inquiring" However, as of right now...I was told that their class is not yet full.
