Has anyone else found that it is taking a longer amount of time to receive letters from lecom-erie about acceptances/waitlisting/rejection letters?

I interviewed on the 19th last month, which was a week before thanksgiving, and last week would have been three weeks. then I found out that the dean of the school, or someone high in the administration who is supposed to sign off on all of the letters, has been gone for like a week and a half. has anyone else been frustrated with this process?

thanks.

hmmm...i've been going nuts for the past 2 weeks waiting for a letter. i was interviewed on dec 2nd though so i know it's still kind of early but i'm still running out to check the mail everyday. hopefully we'll both hear back soon.

by the way...what's your source for that info you got? not knocking on you or anything but i just wanted to know if you heard it from their office or whatever.

I called elaine, or elouise or whatever her name is at the admissions office and the dean was in bradenton last friday and then the dean was gone today also.

I really hate this.

if i don't hear back from them this week i think i might call them monday. i want to just get a hold of them before the break. i wonder if they would still send out letters during the break???

Good question about letters over break. I just personally need to relax. I have a ton of work coming up next semester that I don't want to think about.

I interviewed on December 9th and we were told it will be in January, 2nd week, before we will hear back from them.
And worst yet, I interviewed with NYCOM in 2nd week of November and still haven't heard from them. I called last week and I was told that it is going to be few more weeks before they will send out acceptance letters. NYCOM mentioned staff shortage and holidays (thanksgiving/X'mas) as major reasons. Sounds stupid. How can they run a med school like this?

what do you guys say when you call to check on this? i was thinking of saying "hello, i was interviewed on dec 2nd and i know it's still early but i was wondering if i would be hearing from you before the break."

i dont want to come off pushy or anything but i just want to know if i will hear back during the break or not. what do you guys think? should i even bother calling or should i just wait it out and spin around in circles in my room until i hear back?

looks like i'm not going to have to call them. i just got my acceptance letter today!! 😀 😀 😀 i think you should give them a call though to see what's up. you should've heard by now.

CAlling can be another way to get a plug in for yourself. I had good experience with LECOM, I interviewed on 10/23 and heard within a week (I'm going). But holidays are tough, end of semester and prof. have grades and all that to contend with. I interviewed with PCOM on 12/15 and they said it wouldn't be till mid Jan.

But call. And tell them that you are sorry about calling but LECOM is your number one choice and you just want to get an update. They like to hear that "number 1 choice" line.

Good luck. From what I have seen if you get 3 interviews, you'll get in somewhere.

Well, I interviewed on December 9th and received my acceptance letter on December 27th. So whoever gave you that info. was misinformed him/herself.
Good luck.
