As an IMG, I'd like to have my ecfmg certification complete for ERAS by September 1st. (I've already taken Step 1.) Can someone please tell me the latest date that I can take Step 2 CK and Step 2 CS in order to have a reasonable chance at having my certification finished by that target date.

Step 2CK takes about 3-6 weeks to come back with 3 weeks being the most common. Sometimes, they change the test, and score reporting can take even longer. You could call the NBME for specifics.
Bottom line is that the Step 2CS score report will be take the longest to return and will be your limiting factor. Look at the above link:
.Testing period:Mar 28 through May 15 .
.Score reporting period: Jun 16.. - Jul 14 .
.Testing period: May 16 through July 17*.
.Score reporting period: Aug 18.. -Sep 15.
To play it safe, I would take it Mar 28 through May 15 (or before if possible). If you took it May 16 through July 17, there is a chance that your score could come back on August 18 or September 1,8, or 15 given that scores are reported every Wednesday. Most scores come back in the first two Wednesdays it seems, but some sites (like Houston) seem to be slow reporters. We have had some people on the forum fret because it comes on the last day of the reporting period.
