I know its best to apply early to dental schools, but I came across some things this summer that didnt let me do that and I have yet to take my DAT's.
My GPA is 3.7 and I was wondering what is the latest I would be able to take my DAT's, submit my application and actually have a chance to get into schools if any at all?
Please let me know.

Many schools give away the majority of their seats on December 1st (3rd this cycle). If you don't get pre-December interviews, you'll be competing for a smaller quantity of seats.

If you were to apply today and take your DATs within a month, it may be 2 months before your application is complete. Schools that have given me interviews have all scheduled at least 3 weeks in advance. So if you were to apply this cycle, it's most likely you will miss out on the interviewing frenzy that occurs in Sept, Oct, Nov.

If you can afford it and if your gpa and ECs are good, you'd be competitive for post-Dec interviews and acceptance. Some schools save seats so they can recruit quality candidates after the pre-Dec scrum. Even if you don't apply this year, it won't hurt to take the DATs and apply next cycle. It'll be one less element of your application to worry about and if you don't do as well as you'd like, you'll have a year to retake.

Thank you so much for your advice. I am a little worried. However like you said if I can take the test, I still have 2014 ready since I will have the majority of the application process finished with. It would be great to get in 2013 but I guess I have to just wait and see.

bump...any other advice

I would have to agree. If it doesn't workout this cycle (let's hope that it does), at least you'll have everything prepared for next cycle. Good luck!
