Learning a second language before medical school

I know Spanglish at the moment, and bought Rosetta Stone to help me become semi-fluent in Spanish. I have been to a Spanish speaking country before, and I was wondering what would be the distinction between me saying I am able to speak two languages on my application versus one? In other words, who is to determine that I am "fluent enough?" Thanks for your time.

I see what you're saying, but I would just take it literally. If you can hold a conversation with someone else in that particular language, meaning you can both understand and articulate words, then you can speak that language. Anything short of that would require a different request, like "Able to speak most of another language". A language consists of the entire system of communication used by a particular community, not a fraction of that system.

Idk, I would dare to say semi-fluent doesn't qualify. But I'm honestly not 100% sure.

Seems to me that just being able to communicate what you need while you perform your duties as a doctor would be sufficient.

I'm not entirely sure if Rosetta Stone is really effective in learning a language. It definitely helped me memorize words quickly but gave me no knowledge as to past/present/future tense. I used it for a while to try to learn French. I can tell you "The boy/or girl is eating an egg" and that's about it. I only stuck through it for about 3 weeks though.
