I am a PGY2 in a five year combined program. I've been going through a lot personally this year and as a result my in training scores for both specialties were low. My program director evals were both not at expected level. Needless to say I will likely take a leave of absence but have no idea how long I can take. Does anyone know what ACGME allows? What is the maximum time I could take and still return as a combined resident?
Sometimes I think that not returning as a combined resident, but instead funneling directly into one field would be preferable. Otherwise I feel that I am at risk for being terminated from both!
