A friend of mine is leaving CVS in about a month. How does CVS handle vacation days? Do they get paid out or are they just lost? What if they go part time float to fill in here and there?

Thanks!

Depends on your state law. In Pennsylvania vacation is an earned benefit and cannot be rescinded or taken away. At CVS they dole it out as you go and allow you to take it in advance of getting it.

Thanks. They said people are bailing everywhere where he's at. Lost 4 in their small city in the past month. And they aren't moving, they are just taking other jobs in the same area. It's a nice area out west. The cutting tech hours has pushed them all over the edge. This is in an area that pays well over 60 to start. But it hasn't brought back the signing bonuses....yet.

I don't know if PTO goes into same category as vacation time, which is an earned/accumulated benefit. Not every state has PTO to begin with.

I was told to cash out stock options too btw before I leave.

what happens if u leave before cashing out stock options? after leaving can u not cash it out after it expires?

I don't work for CVS, but for Walgreens, yes, there is a condition that you have to be an employee to exercise the stock options. However, after you exercise the stock options, you will then have some actual stock. Some people choose to sell the stock straight away. Or, you may hold on to the stock if you want, and you can sell the stock at any time whether or not you are an employee.

I hear you... I'm thinking about quitting with hour cuts too.

I'm waiting to see if it's manageable... Or if it will get better. My pay, seniority, benefits, etc is the only thing stopping me.
