In the LECOM PCSP 3 year program, do you have to go into family practice or can you do some other primary care, like pediatrics or emergency, etc. Otherwise, why is it called Primary Care Scolars Program and not Family Practice Scolars Program. Thanks.

You can go into Family Medicine, General Internal Medicine, Pediatrics or Ob/Gyn.

Anyone know how competetive the program is?

** wo, i just realized how old this post is...

No OB/GYN, just IM, FP or PED. You can also do one of two fellowships offered through LECOM; OMM or Geriatrics. During the vetting process during anatomy, you and the administration will know if it is a right fit. But, if you plan on going in and trying to change the rules when you are down the road (ie, being in the pathway for a year then saying, "I think I want to do an IM.ER residency.", think again.

Great program if you are POSITIVE you want one of the areas mentioned above.

How are the admissions standards for this program? Is it equal to regular standards or is it a bit lower due to less people wanting to go in to primary care?

I Want to go in to primary care so am wondering if this is a good option for me.

are students who complete this program free to apply to residency programs of their choice through the match? or is there some type of agreement in place with certain hospitals to take these graduates?

I tried finding a link for this program, maybe I over shot it...
