LECOM Bradenton invites anyone?

I called the school Monday and someone there told me the admissions committee met for the first time late last week so I thought interview invites would be arriving in the mail soon. Nothing in the mail again today though 🙁

The official interview thread doesn't list anyone with an interview at Bradenton yet but,...anyone received anything from Bradenton this week?

I just got invite today , but the letter was dated 09/01/2005, so it took like 10 days for it to get here 🙂

Were all of your LOR to the school before they sent you the invite? Also, when did you submit your secondary? .......I'm waiting for 1 LOR from DO and 1 LOR from science professor -- but my secondary is in, and I have heard they grant interviews before all LOR are in. Just wondering.

I just received the interview invite today (dated sept. 1 but sent sept. 6) and I'm still waiting on my DO LOR.

I just received mine about an hour ago as well! It was postmarked on 09/06/2005. My file is complete. I sent my secondary application in on 08/08/2005. My interview date is set for 10/04/2005. I assume this is the very first group?

i went to an admissions conference they had today. they said that the admissions committee does not review your application until it is complete. i haven't applied yet, so i really don't know, but thats what they said.

btw, the school is VERY nice and the students seem very happy. everything is so new and it just looks soo clean! 🙄 the OMM lab is HUGE! they are so technically advanced too. also, something interesting, they don't dissect in human anatomy..i thought that was kinda odd. they actually have the bodies already dissected. anyway, just thought i'd share some things...good luck to everyone!!

Well, just FYI, I just spoke to the DO yesterday and she's mailing my letter out on Tuesday so I know for a fact the DO letter isn't there yet.

I don't know if it makes a difference but my stats are 3.2 undergrad gpa, 3.7 graduate gpa, and 32-0 MCAT (11V,10P,11B)

The letter is dated 9/1 but the postmark is 9/6. Must have been a long trip to a mailbox!

Just wondering which airport and hotel everyone is planning on arriving to and staying at. I'm thinking about Tampa as the price is the same with Bradenton airport. Ticket is cheaper for Tampa but when you add shuttle service it's the same either way. I might stay at Comfort Suites as they take you to the campus for a relatively cheap rate.

Mine is also on 10-14. I think I am flying into Ft. Myers, because my Fiancee has family there, on Wednesday night. She may be coming with me. Then I have Thursday to relax and prepare, and will probably go up to Bradenton Thursday to have a look see where the school is. Then I will interview Friday, and spend the weekend down there with my fiancee, and come back on Sunday.

I too am flying into Tampa 10/04. It's about $270 less than Bradenton/Sarasota.

Can't remember where I am staying. First on the list they sent (in Bradenton), about $70 with the "LECOM rate".

unless you're planning on hanging out in tampa, you might want to consider just paying the extra $$ and fly into bradenton/sarasota.. shuttle/taxi/car rental to bradenton might run you the same amount of money anyway. food for thought.

also, contact the admissions office about student hosts. i believe there are students willing to host interviewees while they're in town. it can save you some money and also give you a good perspective on medical school.

Cool, thanks for the suggestions. Altough, I'm getting the car for about $50, even with hotel it's still less than flying into bradenton/sarasota.
