Hi everyone:
I just received a postcard from LECOM stating that my file is complete, but that 3 hours of English are missing. The 3 hours for this requirement will be taken this coming semester and is noted on the AACOMAS form as in progress (due to the requirements of a biochem major at my College, this is the first chance I had to take the class). My question is will they review my file with the English in progress? No other school seems to have a problem with this.

Thanks for the help.

I have a similar issue with the behavioral science requirement. They say I lack 2 credits (have 4 in psych), but am registered for a philosophy class next semester (their website lists philosophy as acceptable for a beh.sci.

I called, and was promptly shuttled to a voicemail system. I left the message, but have yet to hear back. I'll let you know what they say.

Thanks for the info, racerx. The funny thing is that I called each of my schools before I applied to ensure that this set-up was ok and each school said that it was fine as long as the requirement was (1) completed by matriculation in the program, and (2) noted on AACOMAS primary as "in progress." In addition, I noted this in like 300,000 places on the primary and secondary forms...but still a miscommunication! I'm sure they will get back to us in their own good time (!) and straighten it out...I'll also post the outcome (if there is one!).

Regards,

Ryan.

Well that sucks, cause Im about to submit mine and I am only lacking 1 credit in ochem lab, I already have all other requirements.

Well,
as per LECOM admission office, I was missing a credit class in Social & Behavioral Science. I was still interviewed and accepted by 1st week of December. Acceptance was contingent upon my completion of the above mentioned class. I ended up declining the offer for admission there.
Funny thing about LECOM was, I already had 3 credit SSB class at my university, which they didn't accept and wanted me to take an additional class. UNECOM, NYCOM, CCOM or PCOM, no one had problem with that class except LECOM. Go figure.

Thanks for the info Doc2B...

I still haven't heard anything from them, but the fact that you were interviewed and even accepted with the course pending I think pretty much answers my initial question. 😉

Thanks...and good luck!

Regards,

Ryan.

I thought it was 6 credits of english, usually, one english class counts for 3 credits, so they maybe talking about you needing 3 additional credits.

Hi Folks!

I hadn't received a reply from LECOM regarding my previous post, so I called the admission office. A very nice lady told me that although this was put on the card, if you take a class in your final UG year that fulfills the remainder of the requirement(s), you are good-to-go. She also informed me that it will not slow down the application / interview invite / offer of admission. All we have to do is submit a final transcript prior to matriculation showing that we have the requirements. Just as doc-2b said!!!

Good luck to all of my fellow LECOM applicants!
