Hello all,

I am new to SDN so here goes nothing with my first thread:

I have been accepted to both LECOM and St. John Fisher and I would like to get some insight, especially from current students, about each school. I know I am not the only one facing this dilemma so hopefully this will help out quite a few people. Feel free to list pros AND cons for each school. Thanks for your help!!!

I got accepted to St. John Fisher and am going there over LECOM. Basically I wanted to go to a four year school and everyone at Fisher was awesome.

I live 30 minutes from Erie and it is a decent place. As long as you don't mind the snow. I'm always talking about the weather but if you're not used to it it is brutal, especially right on the lake

Yeah, we're all pretty awesome. Well most of us, anyway. I don't know about that (side note: we need more than four people from our school posting here, picking on the same people gets old and stale after a while) though, they seem pretty square.

Glad to hear you'll be attending Fisher next year. I'm looking forward to it, and not just because I'll be done with a year of pharmacy school by then. :meanie:

I interviewed at both last year.
In terms of location, fisher is soo much better. There is an actual city here, with places to go and things to see.
I'd also prefer a 4-yr school to a 3-yr school.
For me, there was no competition between the two. In terms of location, curriculum, faculty, facilities...Fisher was better hands down.

And I love it here now 🙂

Hope that helps!

I would like to say that i just got accepted to LECOM Erie! I will be attending there in the fall, there is nothing wrong with either school. It just matters if you would like to finish pharmacy school in three years or four!!

Hi, I noticed that you got accepted both to Lecom and St. John Fisher. I was just wondering if they require calculus based physics or just a regular physics? I will be applying there in a few years. I tried looking up the information online but I couldn't find it.

thank you.

thank you.

Both require algebra based physics, not calc-based.

Well, I will definitely go to St. Johns Fisher College of Pharmacy..🙂..

A few of my friends study at St. Johns Fisher College of pharmacy; they said the location is great and of course, four years pharm.d. program will make you understand the concepts which otherwise would be much harder if done in 3 years...😀

I was accepted to LECOM Erie and I have an upcoming interview at St. John Fisher. Both are close to my home. The only thing that has me leaning towards LECOM is the 3yr accelerated track which I believe I can handle and the tuition. It is almost $40,000 cheaper for me to go to LECOM over St. John Fisher...(including tuition, fees and health insurance) mainly because of the extra year of school. It is still on my list though 🙂 Both great schools and I have heard wonderful things about both.

Hey Shawna, I see you did well on D'Youville's interview cuz you got excepted! How was the college and was your interview laid back? looks like we're both interested in LECOM. Hoping to hear from them soon. :xf:
