I interviewed there on Monday, and I haven't seen anything about the chance of getting in after having an interview. Has anyone been accepted yet?

i interviewed there on Mon 2 October

I recieved a letter in the mail on Tue 10 October (that was printed on 4 October) saying that I was accepted to their school and which program (PBL, Lect Disc, Indep)

I think the chances are good....I mean I don't know you, but good luck! :luck: I don't know what the stats are on interview/acceptance.

I don't know how often they meet to decide, but it seems like a tight-knit school!

Thanks! I'm new to the forum, but I've lurked for a little while 🙂 The people there seemed nice, although one student did tell me that it is not uncommon for cars to be completely covered in snow... he said people usually tie a ribbon or something to their antenna so they can find it. Yikes!

Hi, I have been accepted to LECOM-Erie 🙂 I found out about two weeks after my interview that I was accepted via my acceptance package in the mail.

I took the following from the acceptance rate w/ interview thread:

Applications In State/OOS; Interviewed In State/OOS; Accepted In State/OOS; Enrolled In State/OOS

LECOM - PA - 469/3782; 297/888; 174/345; 123/266

Let me know if you have any questions about the school or interview. Good luck!!

A bit of an exaggeration, maintenance keeps the lot plowed. You will never lose your car. It snows tons in Erie but not every day and not all in one day. It was probably someone from Florida who said that. Hmmmm. I lived there for 5 years, I never had trouble finding my car.

Thanks for the info. I'm OOS, so those stats aren't great, but not horrible either I guess. I'm glad to hear you've never lost your car- the way that guy was talking, it seemed like it happened more than once a year. It seems like Erie has a low COL- my girlfriend was looking at houses online, and there were a lot for under $50,000. Any idea if these are probably ok, or if they are most likely in bad areas or have massive problems? Where I live (Jersey), you can't even buy a plot of land for under $50k.

I owned a Cavalier while in Erie, and I never once lost my car. Generally, in Dec - Feb it snows an inch or two every couple of days. Big storms are few and far between, especially if you live in town. The closer you get to I-90, the more it snows. That being said, and make no mistake about it, you will see lots of snow!

Erie is probably the cheapest place to live in the country. $50K gets you a pretty decent house for a couple. Small but decent. I would try to stay on the West side of town, the east side tens to be more run down and lower socioeconomic groups. Yes, the cost of living is basically nothing. I ran a household of 4 people on $1200/month pretty easily.

I submitted my primary/LORs/secondary to Erie this week and I was wondering how long it took you guys to be complete and then hear back about the interview??

What is the weather like in Erie vs. Pittsburgh? I went to school in PIttsubrgh and winters were very manageable...

If anyone wants to buy a great house about one mile from LECOM just drop me a private message. The houses that are around 50k are on the east-side and really suck. But you can get a great house for around 90-100k.

I got a complete email, and then a couple days later, got an invite. I actually just came back from there, so if you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer with what I learned.

got my acceptance letter about two weeks after my interview in late sept.
