I interviewed with LECOM on January 7th, and have not heard any response... I emailed them twice and recieved no reply... I called and asked "I am just wanting to verify that nothing has been sent, and am wondering if there has been a change in the decision of my application?" And she said, "you will hear in the mail." That's it!

I don't think they understand the stress that comes along with checking your damn mailbox everyday for 7 weeks!! I have been reading some fairly negative things about LECOM recently, some good arguments and some bad. Is this an example of the faults of the school? Seriously, seven weeks and they can't even tell me over the phone! Just venting 😀

iwillbeadoc,

*HUGS* You needed that!

Don't feel alone, anyone going through this process is stressed out until they get the acceptance that they've been waiting for. That includes compulsively checking e-mail, waiting for the mailman, crossing your fingers when you're checking your voicemail and hoping it's from a med school. Just hang in there. Remember, you have already interviewed...the rest is out of your hands.

Give it another week, and call again. Best of luck to you!

Don't worry, I had my interview on the 2nd of December 05, and didn't receive my letter until the second week of Feb!! I'm not planning on attending though. Hope that helps.

I think it all depends on how frustrated or bored the admissions people are and who you speak to. When I called to check on my application status after I interviewed, the person was really friendly and said, "I'm really sorry, but we can't tell you any information over the phone. Your decision will come in the mail." They told me in my interview we would hear one way or another in 4 weeks, and just about to the day I got something in the mail after 4 weeks.

I'd definitely keep calling once a week though! All they can do is keep telling you the same information. They're probably just frustrated for having a million calls a day regarding application status and not being able to tell anyone anything over the phone. Good luck to you!

And for all of you that are worried about LECOM's application process, I've had nothing but great help thus far. For example, If you get accepted you have to get a state-wide criminal background check on yourself and send it to them..... They sent us "example states", but NC wasn't on the list and I had no idea how to go about it. I emailed the security people at LECOM on Wed night and got specific instructions on how to do it Thurs morning at 8am. I also had a question about how to answer one of the FAFSA questions and called around lunchtime one day and got a call back an hour later with the answer to my question. Maybe I've just gotten the luck of the draw, but they seem to be really great at aiding me in this process!

LECOM seems to take a bit. I interviewed on Nov. 4th and didn't hear back until Christmas Eve. I would say stick in and just wait. I know how hard that is, trust me, but, what else do you have to do?

Don't worry, took LECOM 8 weeks to send me my letter. But now it seems as if they lost my deposit! 😱
