any advice on the whole where to stay, where to fly? to drive?, etc.

good luck to all applying...getting nervous, i wasted a lot of money on these apps, haha, i better hear back from more than 2 schools lol

is anyone gonna be @ the LECOM interview on Mon 2nd October??? when are they/did/will be the first interviews???did they start this week or is next monday the first???

Hey Guys,

I interviewed at LECOM on 9/25 and stayed at the Days Inn. Although it wasn't very nice, it definitely worked! They have a shuttle that picks you up at the airport for free, saving you money from cabs. I took a cab to the interview in the morning- it was very inexpensive and about 7 minutes away. Plus, it was only 45$ a night at the Days Inn when you tell them that you are interviewing with LECOM.

If you are driving, I would recommend staying somewhere else from the places listed in the interview package because the Days Inn isn't around many places to eat and isn't very nice. But if that doesn't matter to you, than I recommend it!

The interview went pretty well and was laid back. They have a standard list of questions that they ask from a sheet of paper. Also, the interview was closed file. This was frustrating because they did not know much from my application. Nonetheless, it went pretty well and I will find out in 3-4 weeks. Good luck to everyone interviewing!!🙂

Was the shuttle a Days inn shuttle?

Also, did you take a cab back to the Days inn?

How did you like the area around the school?

It wasn't specifically a Days Inn shuttle- the shuttle took people to various hotels in Erie.

Yes, I did take a cab back to the Days Inn...When they took me in the morning- I asked them to pick me up at 1pm when the interview was over. It was 10$ each way.

If you want to check out more of the area around Erie, I wouldn't recommend staying at the Days Inn because it is off of the main street. Instead, stay at a place on Peach Street to see more.

Personally, I did not love the area around Erie. There are lots of restaurants and enough places to shop and get the basic things that you would need. The cost of living is SOO low in Erie!! Most places to rent are around 325$ for a 1 bedroom..even less expensive if you have a roommate. Basically, going to LECOM would save you a lot of money compared to most other schools because of the tuition + cost of living. And the lack of attractions can be seen as a good thing- since there aren't many distractions you would be able to focus intently on learning medicine!!
