LECOM recruitment letter??

Anyone else get this email today? It's asking me to consider their campuses for my medical education... which I actually have been doing this past month, just haven't hit the submit button for a few more schools because of financial reasons (Bradenton would be my top choice for their campuses)

Any thoughts would be great.

I would apply if you are interested in going, but I don't think the letter is anything special (not trying to be mean). I received solicitation email/letters from MD, DO, Podiatry, Anesthesiology Assistant, etc programs because I took the MCAT.

If you stay on SDN long enough, you're bound to see some LECOM ads eventually. They're pushing hard for more applicants, for who knows what reason, and advertising pretty widely. I didn't realize they were doing direct mailing, but it doesn't surprise me.

I got a couple of unsolicited letters in the mail inviting me to apply to places... one even sent me a letter inviting me to apply a week or two after they'd rejected me. Don't read too much into it.

hahaha nah I never thought they were emailing me because I was some kind of special applicant. I had just never seen that before, and it kind of surprised me since it was coming from med school.

I got all kinds of unsolicited e-mails for med schools over the past year and a half. 90% of them were from programs that I didn't have a shot in hell of getting into. Most of them congratulated me on my MCAT score and invited me to apply to their MD/PhD programs. Great, except for my GPA didn't even qualify to apply to any of the programs that e-mailed me

I got one of those from Washington St. Louis MD/PhD. I put it up on the fridge, it was too good to just throw out. Trying to explain to my mother when she came to visit that no, I was not going to apply to the program "just to see what happens" made me regret that decision.

I mostly got anesthesiology assistant and podiatry school letters. I only had one medical school send me a recruiting email and it was an MD/PhD program which I certainly don't have the stats for. The US Army, though, has been my constant companion since I took the MCAT last year. 🙄

ya I got that one. I got one from Illinois, Rush sends me e-mails on a daily basis, Tulane sent me some and promptly rejected me this cycle, few other schools. They lessened after the initial burst post-MCAT.

I've tried to get myself removed from Rush's mailing list to no avail. I get emails for every single program imaginable there.

The army has been my buddy as well, as have the navy and airforce. At least until I applied to USU... no response from them after inquiring about my GPA a week after my 2ndary was in lol
