I was accepted into both and I am not sure right now on where to go. I am leaning towards Touro NV but LECOM has some really good things.

LECOM Seton Hill-Pros
Big Name
Residency placement is good (at least for Erie and Bradenton)
Cheaper (cost of living and tuition)
My wife has family in Greensburg
Good board scores (at least for Erie and Bradenton)
Cons
New location
No cadaver dissection in PBL
I am not 100% sure about PBL
Greensburg/Pittsburgh is not Las Vegas
I am not sure about clinical rotations.

Touro NV-Pros
Good residency placement
Good exam schedule, students seemed really happy
Nice location
Pretty nice facilities
Rotations all in one place (not sure if they are the best quality though)
Supposedly best Touro out of the bunch and developing a better reputation

Cons
Cost
Board scores not as high
You do live near Las Vegas😉

I am sure I did not include all of the positives and negatives. Any help and feedback would be very appreciated. I am just not sure right now. Thanks.

Congratz on LECOM!!!

For me, my wife having strong connections would be a strong driver. It provides your family a support structure. The support structure is actually why my wife is going to stay up north here and I'll fly back on the weekends.

That said, the housing market in Vegas is so terrible right now, you could probably find a steal of a home. It is close to Vegas, which for me is a bit of a downer, but I am encouraged that all the clinicals are in the Vegas area.

Good luck with your decision. Thank God the deposit is 95% refundable ehh!

I'd personally pick Touro NV. They have a solid program there, and picking LECOM-SH based on what Bradenton and Erie have done isn't accurate in my opinion. They are all different programs with differing circumstances, etc. I'd pick TUNV based on:

-Location (I really liked Henderson and personally loved it being close to Vegas)
-Two classes that have already matched with nice results
-Clinicals (really nice not to have to move)

I forgot to mention that my wife goes to pharmacy school in southern california and she was "considering," transferring to LECOM Erie or Pitt if I went to LECOM Seton Hill. So that is also a factor. I still think that Touro NV might be better for me but please post more opinions.

Where in southern Cali does she live? My boyfriend lives there, and if I went to Touro I'd be just a few hours from him. If she lives in LA or San Diego it'd definitely be further, but probably still a car drive away, which I think would be a good reason to go to Touro over LECOM.

We live in Ontario and she goes to Western. I was placed on a pre-interview hold at Western and I think it is not looking that great right now for Western so I am thinking that Touro NV would e the next best thing.

Ontario is about 3.5 hours from Vegas ... no prob getting from there to Western for visits. Don't underestimate the value of being close to loved ones. I would definitely consider this.

second that

They are both good schools, I myself would be more partial to Touro Nevada since I am from the West Coast but Touro California already got my deposit, so I am going there.

Henderson is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😀

OP, I would mostly choose family support over location, unless you know you would absolutely hate Greenburg. But, if you are not entirely sure about the PBL curriculum then I would definitely choose Touro-NV.

Oh wow I completely overlooked the 'not totally comfortable with PBL' part. If you aren't comfortable with PBL, do NOT go to a PBL school. PBL is fantastic, but it is not for everyone and it's going to be very scary for you if it's not your type of learning.

PBL is another thing, its not for everyone. LECOM requires you to do quite a bit moving in your third and fourth year. Touro NV has a lot of clinical sites in Vegas because of the lack of competition.
