For those of you that were accepted to LECOM, what kinda envelope did the letter arrive in? Second how many weeks did they take to notify you? Just trying to ease my mind. Thanks for any input.

Well I was expecting a fat envelope for an acceptance from LECOM but the envelope wasnt that fat. I was so nervous opening up the envelope because it wasnt as thick as I thought it was going to be but it eneded up being an acceptance.....so if its not toooooo thick dont worry!!

my deposit's in at LECOM. So looks like LECOM for me unless I hear from any of the six schools I'm still waiting to hear from (unlikely)...

it was a very fat envelope by the way.

After weighing all the variables, I just couldn't do VCOM 🙁 I really wanted to try but I think I'd be more comfortable at LECOM (the nice big city-relatively), and it'd be easier for my girlfriend and I to stay close when she enters an MD school in 2004.

anyone else?

DOtobe....no I;m not going to LECOM....I think I am goingi to go to DMU unless I get an interview and accepted at MSU. LECOM is a great school and I really liked it but I just felt like DMU was a better fit for me 🙂

LECOM sends acceptance in fat envelopes-

They include

1. general letter of accepantace
2. Letter of accetance to X pathway
3. acceptance form for pathway
4. roomate request info
5. three page (5-6 front/back) matriculation aggreement
6. A letter explaining what you must do with acceptance

Homersimpson--
As of now, I plan to go to LECOM, although I may go to COMP if accepted. I really like LECOM, but COMP offers military clinicals, and has better financial aid--and weather. My acceptance is at LECOM. It is a toss up btw COMP, USUHS, and LECOM. (USUHS is the only MD school I would go to--and that is because it is military.) I have extreme problem with LECOM, in that I have Army training until July 25 in San Antonio TX, and classes Start 1 August, Any recommendations? (I have to drive from TX to PA)

I'm a LECOM Army HPSP MSII, and I plan on doing half of my rotations third year with the Army. I'm doing an ADT at Tripler (yes, that's right, Hawaii), and since I live in the DC area, I will be doing 3 other non-ADT rotations at Walter Reed and Ft. Belvoir. LECOM considers any military hospital an affiliate hospital, so you can do virtually any rotations you want with the Army. They are very open minded when it comes to military, one of our professors is a Colonel so they understand the requirements and really work with you to try to work things out with rotations.

As for getting up to Erie from Ft Sam after OBC, i recommend flying, but if you can't, you should be able to make the drive in about 2 days, so make sure you have everything squared away before OBC starts. Word of advice - make sure you have everything squared away with online too - any errors could delay your orders. Have fun down there.

Congrats to everyone else who got accepted to LECOM or anywhere else. I hope you're having fun now, because you really don't have any idea what you're getting yourself into.
