My mom got her PsyD at NYU about 30 years ago. If I were to apply to NYU medical school, would her degree count as legacy for my med school application, or would it not be taken into consideration?

I don't think it's gonna matter unless she's been making sizeable alumni contributions (i.e., enough to name a building after her)

could possibly count more if she graduated from NYU med school, but most likely will have no effect. NYU has an extremely large alumni network-so probably not as unique as one’d think

with that said, would that stop you from applying? if adding it to your list isnt a huge financial cost, apply anyway and see what happens!
