length of time reviewing blocks of Qbanks

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
How long does it take to review each block of Qbank questions completed?especially with annotation of First Aid. one hour?two hours ?Any ideas.

It would take me about an hour to answer 50 questions and about 2 hours to review them. I took notes on almost every single question.

Excessive note taking and annotating of first aid is counterproductive, towards the end, seeing all those notes, in the margins is quite annoying. I also wasted time, annotating and writing things and trying to learn things perfectly the first time, well I think for the USMLE, reviewing is key, because by the time you cover all of Micro and Immuno for one week, the embyo you studied 2 weeks ago is not as fresh in your mind. So rather than spending so much time on each subject, I wish I had reviewed them multipe times instead.

did you use system based reviews or individual subjects?also did you do random timed qbanks as you studied, both mixed and topics studied so far?

I primarily used qbank to guage my studying, so most of the time, they were individual subject timed and tutor mode. I used a subject based approach, because most of the reccomended books are subject based.

Did you do much annotating in First Aid before hitting Q-bank. I feel like I should be annotating from lecture (in class) but I don't know what's high yield and what is not. Any advice out there?

Annotating from lecture is probably a waste of time. Perhaps if you hear something in lecture that helps you understand a concept that otherwise doesn't make sense you could throw that in.

If it isn't in First Aid or a Pathology review book it probably isn't "high yield."

When studying for boards, always ask yourself "how could this concept be tested?" If there is no good answer, perhaps it won't be.
