I was thinking about the upcoming cycle and realized a lot of students taking the new MCAT will be getting their scores back the earliest June 15th. Does that mean less people will be applying early? Just something I have been thinking about.

A bunch of people are taking the old MCAT right now to avoid the new one. So I guess there will be an increase in applicants.

Mcat scores last 3 years after you take them. Therefore, you will have students who took the old mcat previously or in january applying 2015-16 cycle. Therefore, like Altered mentioned, I don't think there will be a decrease in students applying early. Also, you dont need mcat score to send out primaries during the first week.

even if you submit on June 1, a lot of schools websites say they send secondaries in July and wait until August to review a completed file. I feel like there isn't much difference between early June and early July but that there is def a difference between June and Aug/Sept etc.

I'm pushing myself to take the May exam because they will send a 'preliminary' report in June, giving me more time to sort out which schools I want to apply to (given the rough exam score).

Take the MCAT when you are ready. Simple. There is no point in rushing and potentially screwing yourself over with a poor score when you probably could have scored higher. The cycle is long.
