Okay, I know this was posted before but there's a lot of new people. Tell me about yourselves. I'll start:

I recently graduated from UCLA with a BS in Psychobiology. I moved up to Sacramento with my fiancee and we're getting married this coming month. She will be going to graduate school to get a masters in social work and become an MFT. I am leaning towards pharmacy school but I'm still not sure.

Okay, I'll go next since I am somewhat new around here. I just finished a post-bac that turned into a second bachelor's degree, a B.S. in Biology at the University of Arizona. Prior to that I had gotten a B.A. in history from a liberal arts college in the Northeast, worked in corporate law in SF, and decided that was NOT the career path for me. So my career path has done a lot of evolving but I am pretty sure it is really leaning towards pharmacy right now. I am working at a Rite Aid here in San Francisco, and applying to several pharmacy schools in California for 2004.

redrum. are you 16years old?

If the 16 on Redrum16's username makes him 16 years old, then I'm 11. I think the legal age to marry someone, both for female and male, in California is 18 years old without the parent's consent, so from what I read about him in the other threads of how he went to UCLA, I think he's a little bit older than that. 😀 But then again, Heyyyyy could be right since we met someone on this board who practically started his PharmD after graduating from high school, so anything is possible.

About me: Happy, go-lucky guy who graduated with a BS in Biology 4 years ago and is finally happy to be back in school studying a profession I am passionate about. Hey, azpremed, if you are serious about pharmacy and are thinking about applying to UCSF, I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have about the application process. Well, the offer of help extends to anyone interested applying to UCSF. Later.

I'm Cozmo, 20, from Baltimore, MD. Currently a junior at Towson University, majoring in either Bio, Chem, or Medicinal Chem, whatever I end up with, I'll be ok 🙂 Leaning towards pharmacy school, but could still go med or dent, but I'll need to make a decision soon.

Hey Cozmosis

I went to Towson University Yesterday with my friend,
my favorite building there was the gym !!
Where you at the Gym there around 4 :00 PM? I am asking you this because some guy there showed us our way upstairs, maybe it was you !! That guy was wearing a red shirt, he was hot, sweaty and all ...

Ok ok whatever

I am 21 .... and I am 21 🙂

PS: You guys should post your pictures here like some of us did.... you can look for that thread on this forum...

OH yeah don't lean towards Pharmacy school I don't need anymore competition. I think that Medecine or dentistry school will suit you perfectly. woooho I can see it now and it looks damn good !! :

Cozmosis MD or DDS 🙂

I am 25 years old.

I have a BS in microbiology (minor in chemistry).

OK, here we go:

Hi! I'm 31 years old, born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. Half white, half Filipino, looks hispanic 😀 . I have a BS in Biological Sciences (minor in Psychology) from UC Irvine (c/o '95). I worked for ~6 years in research at a biomedical device company (~3 years as a senior research associate) before going to pharm school. I'm starting my 2nd year at Nevada College of Pharmacy. I live in Henderson, NV (although I'm still in LA right now). I work as an intern pharmacist at a Las Vegas medical center.

I'm 21, lonely single hot female, looking for a.... PharmD degree at VCU. I'm from the Washington DC Metropolitan area, and I went to Virginia Tech as an undergrad for 3 years. And since I'm in the mood for some shameless bragging, I got 99th percentile on the PCAT.😀 Working at Rite Aid, and lovin' it.

There's a picture thread somewhere, I'm not digging it up.

I'm a 21 year old...I just graduated from UC Davis with a degree in genetics. I'm starting Pharmacy school in about 2 1/2 weeks at USC

27 Currently an elementary school teacher with a BS in Biology and a Masters. I'm finishing up some prereq coursework and applyign to pharm school this year. Also volunteering in a hospital pharmacy (my schedule couldn't really handle another part time job).

hi am kinda new, i've posted here and there.. not as much as i'd like to because my computer is fickle and sometimes even when i log in and try to post it tell me i can't..
but anyways i'm 23 going to college of pharmacy in baltimore maryland this fall. did undergraduate studies in neuroscience at the college of william and mary in VA. the city is gonna be a drastic change from colonial williamsbrug. I'm intrested in doing clinical pharmacy and possibly teaching.

My name is Jason, I have a BS in Pharmacological Chemistry from UCSD, I'm 28, and my girlfriend and I recently moved back to California after a 2-year "vacation" in Louisiana. I'll be attending UOP this fall, but my #9 position on UCSF's waitlist unfortunately keeps all options open. So far, we haven't been too successful in finding a good sushi or burrito restaurant in glorious Stockton.🙁

Hey Jason,

I'm just curious, but what number did you start off at on the UCSF waitlist?

Jason,

My favorite restaurant in Stockton was Yen Du. That place rocked, it's hidden behind some other buildings so you'll have to look up the address (assuming its even still there). Try the house chicken....my mouth still waters thinking about it.

The best mexican food restaurant was this little hole in the wall on march lane, but, alas, the name escapes me. They had some pretty good burritos.

You pretty much don't want to drift to far from march or pacific or hammer. At least not without a flak jacket and some ammo. 🙂

I started off as number 17. No one from the waitlist has actually been admitted to the school...

I have to agree with you on that one. Baton Rouge wasn't exactly the safest place in the world, but this seems much worse. We went to Walmart the other day...yikes.

Hi everyone. I am 24 WM and got my PharmD last May. I am currently working as a prn RPh for Hy-Vee and spend my spare time doing as little as possible. I will be starting medical school Aug 4 and hope to do anesthesiology (put that pharm background to work). Oh yeah, I got married last june as well.

Hi all, I live in San Diego, and graduated UCSD 2002 w/a major in Biochemistry & Cell Biology.
I have been acccepted into UCSD's SOP class of 2007, and am looking forward to starting September 22nd.
I have no experience in retail pharmacy, as I was in the Navy as an aircrewman for over 8 years. I currently work at Naval Air Station North Island as a Flight Simulator Instructor and Technician. I hope to receive all the exposure to the field of pharmaceutical sciences during my time in school.

--stupidbarbarian out...😎

Last year, I graduated from UC Irvine with majors in psychology, biochemistry & molecular biology and a minor in biomedical engineering. I am a realistic, as well as a news junky. I will start pharmacy school at USC this August.

I think the day when I am on my boat, surrounded by bright stars, mesmerized by the sound of smoothing waves, fishing poles casted, a corona in my right hand, steaks on the grill, The Sopranos on the flat screen t.v, a golden retriever sleeping next to my legs, a supporting wife in my arms, is the day I know I am truly content with my life.

b]Right f'in on dude!!!!!! Don't worry BMB. I'll make sure that happens second week of class (I gotta buy my books first week, but then i'll take care of it 😉

Twenty-six year old male. B.S. CompSci from University of Minnesota, where I was born and raised (the state not the university). Currently, working as a Network Support Technician (blech). I come from a family of pharmacists and have just recently decided to stop trying to fight fate, so I'm applying to Pharmacy school this fall. I don't have a picture, but I used to look exactly like Ricky Schroeder during his Silver Spoon years, if that helps.

HELLO EVERYBODY!

Let me introduce myself! My name is Shaunta and I am currently located in Chi-town. I am 21 and I am an African-American female. That's right, I'm a Midwestern hip hop honey, just what the profession needs. Pharmacy needs a little flava, you know. I currently attend the University of IL-Urbana. My major is Biology with a minor in Chem. I am in my final year and I can't be anymore excited. I plan on going to pharm school right here in the Chi, but I was also looking into moving Down South, so the Southern schools have become an option also.

I am a senior majoring in accounting. I will be taking my core sciences the next two years while finishing my major, which is something I've decided I no longer want to pursue....Anyway, if all goes well (a's in my core sciences, high grade on the pcat, etc.) and I gain admission, I will matriculate in my school of pharmacy in fall of '05, and graduate in spring '09. It will have been quite a journey, considering I started college in 2000 (I was accepted into pharmacy then but turned it down: BIG REGRET), but it will be worth it if I'm doing something that interests and challenges me. I have an internship with a major accounting firm this summer, and it has taught me not to settle for mediocrity in my life, and not become a corporate workaholic condemned to a life of endless paperwork. My mindset is to pursue what I am interested in and what will challenge me, NOT what will guarantee me a job. So long story short, I am trying to get back into pharmacy after pissing away three years of my college life....Wish me luck!!!

welcome bringinit247 good luck with everything.. btw going into a career in pharmacy actually does garentee you a job! pretty kool huh?

Graduated from U.C. Irvine with Political Science and Biology this year. Going to UOP. Sigh. guy:girl only 1:2.

I am so sorry Rishk:laugh:

Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum. I'm 29 and live in Glendale, AZ. I live on the doorstep of Midwestern University. I have a BS in Education (taught for 4 years) and will apply to Midwestern this fall....

21-year-old luftmensch who started pharmacy school WAY too quickly as a possible route to medicine. While in pharmacy school, found out that he wasn't qualified to work the long hours, cry the tears, or put of with the inane calls that interns like me put to them at 0100 hours. Wants to go to graduate school rather than a residency. Employed for CRW and Target. Final year candidate starting next week. Passionately hates psychiatric medicine and DSM-IV.

23-year-old WF. Live in the midwest, have a BA in psychology, but going back in January to start pharmacy prereqs. If all goes well, I'll be starting pharmacy school in fall '05. My main job is technical writing, but I just applied for a part-time job at Wag's as a pharmacy technician. *crosses fingers*

Hey pharmel ehat do you teach? I'm a fellow AZ teacher applying to Midwestern this year!

Hello everyone. I'm new here. 25-year-old F, BS in Microbiology from the University of Texas at El Paso. I originally wanted to be a researcher, but I've learned that I HATE research. If I never see another 96-well microplate, it will be too soon. I decided I wanted to be a pharmacist this March, a little too late to apply anywhere. So I'm applying for Fall 2004. Midwestern-glendale and UT Austin are my top choices. I've already submitted my app to pharmcas for MWU-CPG, and can't apply to UT until October 1st. I still need to take the PCAT in October. My friend Lovilla told me about this forum. We had classes together. She's the coolest, sweetest girl! Thanks Lori.

Hello everyone! I am 27 years old M, BS in Cell and Molecular Biology at SDSU and a Minor in Partying! Spent a couple of months in Mexico City researching compounds for possible HIV inhibitors and spent close to a month in South Africa with the NIH going to different clinics that deal with HIV/TB (very humbling experience). I am currently at UCSD doing research and spending the other time climbing and chilling with my dog. I am going to UCSD School of Pharmacy this Fall (Go 2007) and hopefully planning a trip back to my tiny little Island of Guam before classes start.

Good Luck to everyone entering Pharmacy School.....and..... bust your asses off in school to not only help improve the lives of others but to help improve the overall foundation humanity!

Man, I'm the youngest one here. I'm an 18 years old freshman at NC State University. I major in biochem, but hoping to get into pharmacy school after 2 years.

26 yom, grew up in South Minneapolis. Completed a BS in Microbiology, and didn't want to leave the Midwest to find a job that would pay crappy anyway. Convinced by fiancee to go to Pharm school (she's a year ahead-nice source of notes/tests). Currently in my last professional year (rotations) at NDSU. Lucky enough to get the majority of my rotations in the Twin Cities area, where I can mooch off my now-graduated-and-employed-by-Target fiancee. Considering clinical pharmacy, residency, and Twins season tickets to go along with my Vikings season tix.

Plenty of other stuff, but that's the brief version.
