Hi all,

Would like an opinion here please!

I have an instructor that I have gotten to know very well and am one of the top students (if not the top) in a class of 75+. The problem though is that while I know her and she knows me well, she is not a professor or even tenure track (she just got her PhD a year or two ago). Is this a problem? It is a science class (math) but I know med school want letters from PROFESSORS so I am not sure how much it would affect my application to have her letter in the mix. It would be a shame to not get a letter from someone who knows me so well though.

Any thoughts are appreciated!

Thanks!

It's fine, no one will judge the status of the letter writer because it's going to have a Dr. XXXX/instructor at whatever institution, so that means he/she already has the credentials to teach a class.

Just ensure that it'll be a great letter and use it.
