Has anyone submitted a letter of intent for a school they are waiting to hear back from after an interview?
I heard it can be helpful to tell your top school you would definitely go there if accepted.

You should make that statement in a thank you letter.

I did a thank you email after the interview. I guess this would be in addition, but over a month later.

When I was waitlisted, I sent monthly updates to the admissions director to let them know that I was still very interested. I always stated that they were my first choice and that I would unconditionally accept if they offered me a position.
I wouldn't call it a "letter of intent" but yes, it would be nice if you sent them an update letter, especially if anything has changed (classes completed, more observation hours, etc.)

Hi! I came across this forum just now. Would anyone be willing to mention briefly how you worded this "letter of intent"/update letter? I want to write one to my top school but don't want to be pushy since I was just waitlisted last week.

I ended up googling some examples but basically said:
-what I liked about the school/interview process
-updating them on what I have done since applying to improve my application
-what I would bring to the program
-reiterating how if accepted, I would definitely attend

Did you send them an email or letter after you were notified that you were on the waitlist? If not, send one now telling them that you are still interested, that they are your first choice, that you would accept unconditionally, that you are 100% dedicated to the process of becoming a PT. Don't be pushy and ask when the cohort will be finalized, where you rank, how many people have been offered, etc...
The focus should be on you, your desire to attend, and why you are a great candidate.

Thank you! I did not send them anything after I was waitlisted just a little over a week ago. Would you suggest emailing the faculty I interviewed with? Or the person that sent me the email about being waitlisted?

I believe my wait list letter came from the Program Director, but I addressed my emails to the admissions director. If you didn't send thank you emails to the interviewers, then do it now, otherwise I think your best bet is someone in the admissions department.
